A Note From The Producer/Director:

We think of Marilyn Monroe as one of the biggest movie stars to ever grace the screen, but there was so much more to her than just glitz and glamour. We aim to do the impossible and encompass her whole life experience in one musical introspective. A lot thought, research and care went into song choices and costume replicas with intricate detail. Through the jazz songs of that era, dazzling costumes inspired by her most well-known roles, and thought-provoking movement, we’ve achieved that. The softer songs were chosen to reflect the uncertainty of her childhood, in bolder numbers, we can imagine Marilyn hitting her stride as her career takes off. Edgier songs are reflective of Marilyn taking on studio heads or standing up to the club owner who didn’t want to hire Marilyn’s friend, Ella Fitzgerald. We also touch upon the theories surrounding her tragic death with a mash-up of My Way by Sinatra and Life On Mars by Bowie. Marilyn was unconventionally deep and dynamic, and that’s all interpreted throughout this show. It’s an homage to both the seriousness and the spectacle. I truly hope you can take something away from this performance that moves you and realize that Marilyn and every performer of stage, screen and beyond is just a human with a heart and soul, like each of you here tonight.
